SHAPEMAKING
How do designers such as Gareth Pugh , Issey Miyake, Kenzo, Yoji Yamamoto, and Hanae Mori create masterpiece clothing.........
As a designer I enjoy creating innovative new inspirational shapes on the body.
I hate thinking of the final outcome ,fashion is a process of experimentation and a balance of the ordinary and extraordinary
So what is the difference between ordinary and extraordinary designers?
For me ordinary is something I've seen before a previous idea almost imitated from another designeralmost 'average'.
Extraordinary surpasses all my expectations has stepped over that boundary took a risk with there idea and stood by it no matter what.
For my own shape making project the outcome was somewhat different to my expectecatations it wasn't as elaborate as I possibly wanted it to be , however I think it gave a good reflection of me both as a designer and person , im not conventional , I prefer risk to playing it safe , my work is rather personal which as a designer I need to learn not to take critism of my design to heart an attribute that will come with experience.
Fine art & fashion combined does have a place in the world.
DON'T JUST KNOT A DRESS ,KNOT A SHELL FOR THE BODY.

Happiness never decreases by being shared

andthe life of the candle will not be shortened.
Happiness never decreases by being shared.”

I Don't have much money.....
I've always wondered what it would actually be
like if money didn't exist
Would we still have the rich and the poor?
Would we still need possessions to define where we lie in society?
Would we enjoy things that cost nothing in life?
Would the homeless feel wanted?
Would we all be equal?
Would the world actually be a better place?
Thats one thing we will never know for certain...........
I decided 2011 to be the year Ihave my own sketchbook
where I sketch without thinking ,where I let the subject come to me as I sketch
1st entry is a 10 minute sketch - Homeless - as I sketched
I thought to myself these people have no money for one reason
or another but does that mean there not happy ??
The picture isn't realistic ,
it was never meant too be
its just lines and scribbles with a biro and water
The Image moved and I captured it
I love the effect the images has when it moves
How it blurs almost drains like.

On her dress she wears a body.
Woman's body is as bumpy as my skull.
Glorious if you are made flesh with spirit

Innovative ideas
Here is a section of one of my pattern cutting classes............
it involved using old garments in my case a shirt and skirt
too create new innovative ideas for garment shapes /silhouettes.
As pattern cutting is still an unfamiliar and hard subject me at the moment,
I find working on the stand creating patterns that way
much more easier as a designer as it helps influence my designs.
Here are some examples there not the greatest quality but you get the idea .....
